Portfolio - Improvement
Over the past two years I have improved my academic skills drastically. My writing skills before high school were okay, but I knew that I needed more improvement. My writing skills now are better than they were because now I know how to add details, use grammar properly, and use more advanced words to make my writing more interesting. Before I started high school I read books, but I don't read books anymore. The only books I read are the text books that we use in the classrooms. My reading skills haven't improved because I stopped reading books. My speaking skills were not good before high school, but they have improved. Now my speaking skills have changed and I don't use inappropriate language anymore. Before I became a freshmen in high school I didn't use technology. Now that I'm in high school I use technology for almost everything I do. In order to continue advancing my academic skills I plan to keep going to school and focus on my education. I also plan to be open to learning new and different strategies to advance my education.

Portfolio - Future

My future looks very bright in my opinion because I have good grades and i'm making good choices for myself. I want to graduate high school, go to SDSU, study business and go to cosmotology school. I want to study business and go to cosmotology school to try and make my own make up business. In order for this to happen I need to keep doing good in school and focus on not procrascinating. To achieve my goals I will need some support from family and myself so that I don't procrascinate and give up. I believe that I will achieve my goal because when I set a goal I push myself until I achieve it and not give up.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Achievement

Over the past two years of high school I have made many achievements, but my biggest achievement was earning a 4.0 GPA for third quarter. I was given an award and two hundred dollars at my school assembly. I knew I had a 4.0 GPA because I check my grades often, but when I received my award and the money I felt very proud of myself because I had achieved a goal I had set for myself. Earning a 4.o was a great accomplishment for me because I tried my best and pushed myself to the best of my abilities. One of my teachers Mr.Walker, put me to the test to see if I could get a 4.0 and I was able to achieve. Earning a 4.0 GPA changed me because I know that I can accomplish anything I want, all I need to do is trust in myself and push myself to get what I want.

Portfolio - My Educational Experiences

Due to my educational experiences, I feel that I am doing well in school and my grades show it. I haven't attended many schools so that is an advantage in my education because I wasn't moving around much. I have attended seven schools in total from kindergarden to sophomore year, but some of the schools I attended were in my opinion not good schools. Sometimes I procrasinate and won't do my work, but that will happen once in a while. The schools I went to had very good teachers that were disciplined and taught me to stay focused and try my best in all that I do. To make sure I am successful in school I check my grades everyweek and if I am missing assignments I check what I am missing adn make them up. I also talk to my teachers to see how I am doing in class and what I can do to be better. I try my hardest to be a successful person in school so that I can have a good future.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Obstacle

The biggest obstacle I've had to deal with over the past two years is when I found out my mom was pregnant and she was having a baby. I was at my sisters, on an overnight pass and her cellphone rang. I had her cellphone and when I picked it up a guy said "your mom is in the hospital giving birth"! I was in shock because I didn't know what to think and I had no idea she was pregnant. I was also scared for the baby and my mom because of the circumstances my mom was in, she didn't have much to eat and the baby wasn't getting fed. This changed me because I started getting more concerned about my mom and what she was doing in T.J. This experience was a huge deal for me, but it was a good experience because I had a new baby sister.

CST Testing Reflection

I have been testing for the last three days and I am frusturated about it. The first day of the CST test, I took the English portion and it was extremely easy. On wednesday, I took the Math portion and that was easy as well. Today I took the history section and that test was difficult and confusing. Most of the questions that were asked on the test, I haven't learned so I had to take a guess. Tomorrow I am taking the biology section and Friday I am taking the science section. I hope that both of the test I am taking in the next few days aren't difficult and I hope the questions are about somethings I already learned. I hope that I don't have to take a test like this one anytime soon and hopefully I did well on them.

Third Quarter Awards Review
On friday we had an awards assemly in the auditorium to recognize the students who had above a 3.0 gpa in third quarter. All the students, teachers, social workers and staff attended the awards assembly. Many awards were given out for grades and others for citizenship grades, attitude, and other things. I recieved threee awards, one for having a 4.0 gpa, another one for most improved from Beedles class, and the last one was for Knott's Berry Farm. There were so many kids that were being recognized for their grades and recieved a certificate and some money depending on their gpa. On the next awards assembly I am going to be receiving another 4.0 award and seeing many more kids in front getting their awards for working hard.

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection
The fourth quarter kickoff was very enjoyable and I had so much fun. I was in team 3 and eventhough we didn't win and had less points than the other teams, we were still able to have fun playing the games. My favorite activity we had was the water activities eventhough I got wet and ichy from the grass. It was a very hot and beautiful day so the water made it even better and refreshing. My team worked together in every activity but unfortunatley other teams won us. I had so much fun on the fourth quarter kickodd and I hope we can do it again and have the same enthusiasm so we can win.

Fourth Quarter Goals
My greatest achievement from last quarter was working hard and getting a 4.0 gpa. In order to achive this I had to do several things. First, I had to stay on task and not get distracted in class and when I did my homework. Second, I had to so all my classwork and my homework and making sure it was above grade level. Third, I had to check my grades to make sure I wasn't missing any assigments and if I was I made them up.
My goal for fourth quarter is the same as my goal for third quarter, to get a 4.0 gpa. In order to achieve my goal I would have to do the following
•Do all my class work and homework at above grade level.
•Stay focused and study
•Check to see if I have missing assignments to make up •Stay positive and encourage myself
This last quarter of sophomore year I plan to end the year feeling proud of myself that I achieved my goals.

What I Learned in the Third Quarter of English 10

Third quarter English 10 with Ms.Priester has been very easy. I have learned many different things that I knew and other things that were totally new to me. The first thing that I learned about was symbolism and allegory, which were very easy concepts to learn about because I was familiar with them already. I also learned things about poetry and we had to make a presentation, which was very exciting. The next things I learned about was imagery and figurative language. Both of those concepts were also very easy because I was familiar with them and the projects were easy as well. The next things I learned about were primary and secondary sources. That was incredibly easy because those concepts were simple. This quarter has been very easy and I am glad that I was able to learn new things and review other so that I don't forget them.

CAHSEE Reflection

Today I took the CAHSEE and I feel like I passed it. At first I was very nervous because I had to take the test and I had a major headache. I was trying to write my essay and my head felt like it was pounding and it felt really hot, but I still managed to write it. The multiple choice questions were very easy, but it was alot of reading. I was extremely bored because I hate reading, but some of the stories were actually interesting. I have a good feeling that I passed the English portion of the CAHSEE eventhough it was very boring and felt like I was testing forever.

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph

When I turn 18 years old, I would not enlist in the military for various reasons. The first reason I wouldn't enlist is because I wouldn't want to risk my life and die at a very young age. Thge military has different good things to offer, but at the same time people are risking their lives and never know if they will come back alive from war. Another reason I wouldn't enlist is because I am afraid that I will die and not get to say goodbye to my family and they will have to suffer. The last reason I wouldn't enlist is because I agree that war and killing is the way to make peace, it just causes more rivalry and hate against people. If I got drafted I would go because I wouldn't want to be incarcerated and serve time in jail.

Feelings about the CAHSEE

Stressed and overwhelmed is how I feel about the CAHSEE, but at the same time i feel prepared. I have been going to the afterschool math meetings and I it has helped me remember some strategies. By practicing writing essays in class has also helped me and I feel like I am going to pass the test. I am stressed because I know I need to focus in school but at the same time remember things I learned these past years. I am overwhelmed because I hate taking tests and just the idea of test makes me become overwhelmed. Eventhough I hate testa and feel stressed and overwhelmed I know that I am going to do great. I am going to put forth effort and not give up because I know that I am prepared for this.

Being a Sophomore
What it means to be a sophomore to me is being mature and getting ready to become and upper-class men. The maturity level of a sophomore should be higher than a freshmen's mind set which is still like middle schooler. A sophomore should be more mature because they need to learn how to act like upper class men and not fool around and take things seriously.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection

My goals for third quarter are to get a 4.0 GPA or atleast all A’s and B’s. Eventhough we just begun the quarter I am starting good and I am going to continue to stay on track. What I have been doing to keep my grades in each class at A’s is to do all my classwork and homework. I am also strudying everyday for atleast 15 minutes and asking for help if I don’t understand something. Something I could do differently is pay more attention in class and not talk so much with my fellow peers, eventhough it is hard not to. By the end of the quarter I am expecting to feel pleased with my grades because I know that I am going to reach my goals.

Third Quarter Goals
Third quarter I want to get a 4.0 GPA or at least all A’s and one B. To achieve my goal I would have to study for my test and just study to gain more knowledge. Another thing I would have to do to achieve my goal is stay focused and if I need help on any assignment I will ask for help. I will also try harder and push myself to do outstanding work, not just okay work but work that deserves an A. Third quarter I will not give up or procrastinate and get my entire work done.

What I Learned in English10 Second Quarter.

This quarter in Ms.Priester’s sophomore class I have learned some new things and had some review on things that I had already learned. In my sophomore class we don’t use paper because like Ms.Priester likes to say “my class is a paperless class”. She has use computers and do all of our work on goodle docs and other websites. One of the things I learned this quarter are how to embed things into my blog and also how to create a poll. Ms.Priester has also been teaching us some new concepts in literature such as ambiguity, theme and irony. I have also learned how to record and answer questions on the web and how to participate on an online discussion. Overall I have learned many different things this quarter in Ms.Priesters sophomore class.
