Today, I went to a play called "Switch" with some sophomores and juniors. The play was about foster kids, how the system works, and all the struggles that kids are faced with. I was very suprised by the way the characters changed persona and how they stuck to the character they were playing. I think it was an amazing play and I recommend people to go see it because the experience was extrordinary and very eye opening. I was very touched in some of the parts and some made me cry because many kids are going through many things like getting taken away and it very emotional seeing it get played out. An example from the play that made me cry was when the kid was getting taken away from his mother and he was crying and screaming. Many people don't know what foster care is or what foster kids are and this play was so good that it basically explained it just by acting it out. I am very glad that I was able to experience this and I hope that I can go to more plays like this one and one day write a play about my experince as a foster kid and have it acted out.

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection
The fourth quarter kickoff was very enjoyable and I had so much fun. I was in team 3 and eventhough we didn't win and had less points than the other teams, we were still able to have fun playing the games. My favorite activity we had was the water activities eventhough I got wet and ichy from the grass. It was a very hot and beautiful day so the water made it even better and refreshing. My team worked together in every activity but unfortunatley other teams won us. I had so much fun on the fourth quarter kickodd and I hope we can do it again and have the same enthusiasm so we can win.

Fourth Quarter Goals
My greatest achievement from last quarter was working hard and getting a 4.0 gpa. In order to achive this I had to do several things. First, I had to stay on task and not get distracted in class and when I did my homework. Second, I had to so all my classwork and my homework and making sure it was above grade level. Third, I had to check my grades to make sure I wasn't missing any assigments and if I was I made them up.
My goal for fourth quarter is the same as my goal for third quarter, to get a 4.0 gpa. In order to achieve my goal I would have to do the following
•Do all my class work and homework at above grade level.
•Stay focused and study
•Check to see if I have missing assignments to make up •Stay positive and encourage myself
This last quarter of sophomore year I plan to end the year feeling proud of myself that I achieved my goals.

Free Choice Blog Post

The day that Mr. Walker told the class that he was leaving because he got another job was very difficult. Even though Mr. Walker and I didn't start off that great the beginning of ninth grade, we started to get along later that year. He would kick me out but afterward he would talk to me and give me advice about life and my future. At first his words didn't mean anything to me but then I started to realize he was right. By the end of my freshmen year I felt so close to him and also looked up to him. He was a person I knew I could talk to about anything and knew he would listen and not judge. The day that Mr. Walker left I was very upset but at the same time I was happy for him because he is doing what he's been working for. He is a very successful person that I look up to and will always remember.

Memorable Valentine's Day

When I was 10 years old I had my first valentine. I was in fifth grade and I remember I had a crush on a boy named Jeovanni, that was in my class. He was so adorable but I was always to shy to talk to him. I didn't know that he wanted to talk to me so we just wouldn't interact with each other. His sister came up to me three days before Valentines Day and told me he liked me. I didn't know what to do so I went up to him and he asked me to be his valentine. I was suprised and I felt my cheeks get red but I said yes!On Valentine's Day he came up to me at reccess time and gave me three roses that he had picked from his moms garden. That was my first and most memorable Valentine's Day.

Dream House Paragraph with Imagery

My dream house is a glass mansion. I want my house to be three stories high and have six rooms and six bathrooms. I want to have a front yard and a backyard with a pool that has a water fall, a jacuzzi, and a sauna. I would like my house to have the walls made of glass so that the sunlight could shine into my house in the mornings and in the night the walls would turn black. I would also like my dream house to have all the furniture to be white and the floors made of white granite with sparkles. I would like it to have a threatre room and a party room so when guest come over they have places to stay entertained. I would liek my dream house to be very luxurious and have many things but in order to achieve this I would have to make alot of money and keep going to school.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection

My goals for third quarter are to get a 4.0 GPA or atleast all A’s and B’s. Eventhough we just begun the quarter I am starting good and I am going to continue to stay on track. What I have been doing to keep my grades in each class at A’s is to do all my classwork and homework. I am also strudying everyday for atleast 15 minutes and asking for help if I don’t understand something. Something I could do differently is pay more attention in class and not talk so much with my fellow peers, eventhough it is hard not to. By the end of the quarter I am expecting to feel pleased with my grades because I know that I am going to reach my goals.

“Through the Tunnel” Foster Youth Initiation

Even though they don’t have to swim through a tunnel like Jerry in “Through the Tunnel” by Doris Lessing, foster youth are initiated into and out of the foster care system. When a youth enters or is put in the foster care system they faces many emotional problems. This sometimes causes problems and chaos for the adolecent because they are forced to be with people that they don’t know and live with them. This also causes trouble for the adolecent because they have to adjust living with starngers and being awayf rom there relatives or family members. As the teen leaves the system they are forced to grow up quicker than other kids and have to transition into an adult faster. An adolecent in the foster care system doesn’t have time to be a kid and matures at a young age because of their experiences or struggles. As a result of this initiation, the teen matures and is able to be independent and do things on their own, needing little or no help from others.

“Through the Tunnel” Comprehension Paragraph

In “Through the Tunnel” by Doris Lessing, I find it convincing that Jerry takes a risk to go through the tunnel and survives. I am convinced he survived because in the story he was so determined to find the tunnel and he does find it. Also, in the story Jerry went down to the bay to work on his breathing to try and go through the tunnel. He is so determined to go throught the tunnel and p-ractice on his breathing that he doesn’t care if his nose bleeds or he has major head aches. Another reason I find it convincing Jerry survives is because even after he was in the tunnel and felt like he wasn’t going to make it to the other end he did.
