"Ex- Basketball Player " Paragraph
Athletics are important to me eventhough I don't play them because they keep you in shape and people have something to do. Also, if people can't play because they don't have grades, they get motivated to try harder so they can play. Any sport teaches a person a lesson. It teaches people that their is no"I" in team and that they have to work together to win. I think it does prepare young people for life because like I said it teaches them a lesson and some people actually learn something from their experience. As a result athletics are mportant in a young persons life because they stay out of trouble, have something to do, and they achieve great knowledge from it.

Google Modirator Questions and Answers
Yes, I believe some people set very high expectations that are unrealistic. Some people set expectations that they think they will be able to achieve but they don't end up achieving them because either they are too hard or they realize they are a waste of time. It's important for people to set high expectations so they can improve themselves but some people are just ridiculous and get out of control and set them too high.

Persuading You to Read a Blog
Sophomores should comment on the freshmen's blogposts for different reasons. The first reason they should comment on their blogposts is because some freshmen aren't use to writing like a high schooler. They need to be aware of the mistakes they are making and if a sophomore points it out then they could fix their mistakes. Also, we sophomores need to help the freshmen become better at their writing and give them critiques and good feedback of their work. By commenting on the freshmens blogpost we sophomores aren't just helping them out or giving them confidence in their work, but we are also learning their points of views. As sophomores we need to start commenting on the freshmens blogspots and aknowledge their work.
Being a Sophomore
What it means to be a sophomore to me is being mature and getting ready to become and upper-class men. The maturity level of a sophomore should be higher than a freshmen's mind set which is still like middle schooler. A sophomore should be more mature because they need to learn how to act like upper class men and not fool around and take things seriously.

SPA Poem
I am here because I cannot be suppoted by my dad or my mama,
so now I have to go through the stress and all the drama
Surrounded by potential and surrounded by trees
the adults are knowledgable statues here just for me
the statues will talk the statues will help
they are there when I need them like when I'm having bad health
to me they are like bombs waiting to blow
waiting for the day that I graduate and go
Free Choice Blog Post
The day that Mr. Walker told the class that he was leaving because he got another job was very difficult. Even though Mr. Walker and I didn't start off that great the beginning of ninth grade, we started to get along later that year. He would kick me out but afterward he would talk to me and give me advice about life and my future. At first his words didn't mean anything to me but then I started to realize he was right. By the end of my freshmen year I felt so close to him and also looked up to him. He was a person I knew I could talk to about anything and knew he would listen and not judge. The day that Mr. Walker left I was very upset but at the same time I was happy for him because he is doing what he's been working for. He is a very successful person that I look up to and will always remember.

Graph Sherbet Blog Post 2011
I can relate to the "Grape Sherbet" poem because when I was younger my family would get together to celebrate El Dia de lod Muertos meaning The Day of the Dead. I don't have alot of family that has passed away but I do have alot of friends who have lost their lives. The phrases that helped me visualize the poem were "the diabetic grandmother stares from the porch" and " "We thought no one was lying there under our feet, we though it was a joke.” When I would go to a cementary to visit my friends it would suprise me because I couldn't believe that they were gone and were under me and I was standing over them. Imagery helps the reader visualize things that they are describing and helpes them understand what they are reading.

Memorable Valentine's Day
When I was 10 years old I had my first valentine. I was in fifth grade and I remember I had a crush on a boy named Jeovanni, that was in my class. He was so adorable but I was always to shy to talk to him. I didn't know that he wanted to talk to me so we just wouldn't interact with each other. His sister came up to me three days before Valentines Day and told me he liked me. I didn't know what to do so I went up to him and he asked me to be his valentine. I was suprised and I felt my cheeks get red but I said yes!On Valentine's Day he came up to me at reccess time and gave me three roses that he had picked from his moms garden. That was my first and most memorable Valentine's Day.

"I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca / Classwork
The emotion that "I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca expresses is love. An example of this is in the poem the writer says "I have nothing to give to you-except love" and it also states that love is all they need. In addition another quote from the poem is “it’s all I have to give, and all anyone needs to live, and to go on living inside, when the world outside no longer cares if you live or die; remember I love you”. That’s why the emotion of this poem is loving.
Remember Homework Paragraph
Line 19-22 on the poem "Remember" do sound logical because what we do and how we act effects everything and everyone around us. An example of this is “remember that you are all people and that all people are you”. This states that everyone is diverse but similar in a way. People are different in many ways from the color of their skin to the way their eyes are shaped but in the end everyone they are similar. In the poem it talks about the people being the whole universe and I agree with that because the people are the world. Everything about the world revolves around humans. So yes I do agree that lines 19-22 are logical.

Remember Paragragh
Entering the poets world we think that she wrote this poem because she wanted people to know that thing may seem bad at times but they can always be worse and they can get better. If I was the poet I would have published this poem because it tells people that other people have worse problems and they can still over come them. The author want people to remember the other people who helped them to grow and make it to where they are.
Reflection on My Experience
I had a great experience being a teacher for the period with Becky and Olivia. At first I thought that we weren’t going to be able to put an assignment together to teach the class. After we did research and was more familiar with the poem I felt better and was able to put the project together with the help of my partners. I felt good about being the teacher even though I was shy. I felt that we did a great job on the class work and the warm up and just the way we put it all together. It was a good experience but I wouldn’t want to be a teacher because I don’t like to have all the attention on me. Great job to my partners Becky and Olivia you guys are hard workers!!!

Homework form "Same Song" by Pat Mora
A time when I felt I needed a change was when I was thirteen years old not just physically but emotionally too. I have always had a good self esteem but I was always negative about a lot of things. I also changed the way that I dressed because I used to dress like a tom boy and acted like a boy. I felt like I needed a change because I wanted to better myself, it wasn’t to impress anyone. After I got out of juvenile hall I realized that I had to change for myself, so that I could become a better person. What I did to change was start to think positive and stop focusing on negative things. I also changed my style and how I dressed. I started to dress more like a girl and do my hair and my makeup every day. When I changed I felt different and felt even better about myself because I did something productive to better myself and my life.

Imagery in a Song
I can almost see it.
That dream I'm dreaming, but
There's a voice inside my head saying
You'll never reach it
Every step I'm takin'
Every move I make
Feels lost with no direction,
My faith is shakin'
But I gotta keep tryin'
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down, but
No I'm not breakingI may not know it, but
These are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most I've just gotta keep goin', and
I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climbKeep on movin'
Keep climbin'Keep the faith baby
It's all about, it's all about The climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, woah
The name of the song that I chose that represents my life is “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. An image from the song is when it says “Gotta keep my head held high”. This represents all the time in my life when I have had bad days, I keep my head up even though I’m hurt. Another imagery from the song I chose is “There's a voice inside my head saying you’ll never reach it”. This represents times in my life when I have felt that I can’t achieve something and I tell myself I can’t. Another imagery is “Always gonna be an uphill battle”. This represents my entire life because every day is a struggle for me. When I hear this song it makes me think of my life and some of the choices I have had to make to get to the top and how no matter what I always end up on top!

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem
The name of my poem is”Heart! We Will Forget Him” by . I recommend someone to read this poem because the way the writer wrote this poem was interesting because she used personification. An exmple of this is that the person in the poem talks to her heart as if it was a person. If a reader doesn’t like reading about love or forgeting someone then I don’t recommend them to read this poem but at the same time the writers strategy of personification is different. The best part of this poem is the way the writer was able to give the heart a human characteristic.
“A Storm in the Mountains” One with Nature
Every time I go hiking I feel like I am one with nature. Everytime I go, I go with different people and go on different hikes. The one time that I really felt I was with nature was when I went on a hike with Desiree and Brian. We went on a hike behind the social workers offices and that is when I had an interesting experience. We were climbing over rocks, some small others big, and the sun was starting to go down. We were going up a mountain and all of a sudden it got quiet and we heard the loud howls of several coyotes. I paused quickly and felt very alert. Another thing that I experienced was holes on rocks that people say were made by natives. I felt proud because I am native and to see things like that and hear animals I feel like I am free. These experiences changed me because I now feel that nature is more important to me.
