In the story “Everyday Use” Dee’s and Maggie’s mother reminds me of my sister. She is a very outspoken, straight forward person in the story and that is how my sister acts. My sister is a type of person that will tell someone if they are wrong about something. She also makes people realize they are no better than anyone else and they shouldn’t be ashamed of who they are and where they came from. In the story Dee is very ashamed of how her house looked and even of her own family. She thinks that the world revolves around her and takes everything for granted. My sister is a great example and a person that I can look up to.
